スイスコットン吊り鹿の子

毎年この季節の定番となっていますスイスコットン吊り鹿の子ポロシャツです。生産が少し遅れておりますので、リリースまでもう少しお時間をいただくことになりそうです。今日は、初めてのみなさんにスイスコットンのお話です。スイスコットンはスイスで育った綿花ではなく、スイスで紡績（綿花から糸を紡ぐこと）された糸のことをスイスコットンと呼んでいます。綿花は北米で、丁寧に栽培されたスーピマコットンと呼んでいる超長綿です。その原綿をスイスに運んで、スイスの紡績会社で糸を作っていただいています。それも80番手という細い糸です。80番手の細さでは、吊り編みにかかりませんので、3本撚り合わせて、1本の糸にしています。（おおよそ3倍の太さになります）このような手法でできた糸を80/3と書いて、ハチマルミコと呼びます。このハチマルミコで編んだ吊り鹿の子は、スイスコットン糸の特色と相まって、なんともいえない光沢とシャリトロ感を醸し出すことができます。絶妙な肌触と言っても大袈裟ではないですのでハマる人は、ハマる逸品と思います。ループウィラーで編んでいる素材の中でも、編み効率の悪さは1、2を争うほうどで1時間の1メートルどころか、30cm程度しか編み立てることができません。そんな非効率きわまりないスイスコットン吊り鹿の子ですが、着用感は、唯一無二の存在ですので、味わっていただけましたら嬉しく思います。@鈴木さとし
This is the Swiss cotton kanoko polo shirt; an item that is becoming a regular feature in our lineup each year for this season. The production for this is slightly behind schedule, so you’ll all have to wait a little bit longer until it’s released. Today’s post is the first time for me to talk to you guys about Swiss cotton. When I say Swiss cotton, I don’t mean cotton plants cultivated in Switzerland, I am referring to yarn that is spun (from raw cotton) in Switzerland; this is what we refer to as Swiss cotton. The raw cotton, which is carefully cultivated in North America and is known as Supima cotton is extra long staple. The raw cotton is then transported to Switzerland, where a spinning company produces yarn for us. It is a size 80 fine yarn. A yarn as fine as size 80 cannot be attached to a Loopwheel machine, so we bind 3 size 80 yarns into a single yarn. The yarn that is produced through this method is written as 80/3, but we call it ‘HACHIMARUMIKO’. The kanoko fabric that is knitted from these HACHIMARUMIKO yarns, coupled with the characteristics of the swiss cotton yarn allows us to created a fabric with a glossiness and brilliance that is rather indescribable.
Even amongst the other textiles that we knit at Loopwheeler the Swiss Kanoko is a contender for either first or second place with regards to inefficiency, given let alone knitting only 1 meter of fabric per hour; the kanoko fabric is knitted at a mere 30cm per hour. Whilst the inefficiency of producing this fabric is unparalleled, there exists no other fabric that will give the same sensation as this one when worn, so I hope that you’ll relish it. @Satoshi Suzuki / WEG
