来年春ものとして、グレーメランジの新色を綿（わた）の段階からつくってみました。この新しいグレーメランジですが、今までのグレーメランジより少し濃い感じに作っており、僕たちはGR7.2と呼んでいます。以前にもお話しましたが、グレーメランジをつくるには、綿（わた）の段階で黒からグレーの任意の色で染色して生成の綿（わた）とブレンドして糸を紡績してゆくのが正しい手法ですが、このブレンドの塩梅が非常に難しく、難易度が高いといえます。また生産ロットやコストの面でもいくつかのハードルがあって、ブランドオリジナルのグレーメランジを紡績しているメーカーはあまり見受けられないと思います。今回は、まだスポットでしか生産できませんが、ループウィラーオリジナルの少し濃いめのグレーメランジを紡績して、LWライト吊り裏毛を編み立てています。LW290ハイジップフーディのサンプルを製作していますので出来上りましたら、またお知らせします。@鈴木さとし
For next spring I have created a new grey melange color. This new color was conceived at the most fundamental stage of production; before the cotton plant is even spun into yarn. This new grey melange is a little darker in color than the grey mélange that we have produced up until now. We call this new color GR7.2. I have spoken about this in the past、but during the process of creating a grey melange color one must arbitrarily blend un-spun cotton black dyed cotton with unbleached cotton and spin this mixture into yarn. This is a fairly straightforward technique, however in order to get the color of this new grey melange just right (in Japanese, we call this process Enbai, which literally means seasoning), it was extremely difficult. In addition on the production lot and cost from too, there were various hurdles to be overcome that are not seen when brand makers are creating a new grey melange color. At the current time we are only producing this color in very limited quantities, however we are at the moment spinning a slightly darker version of our LW light fleece. I am producing a sample of this in our LW290 high zip hoody, so I will let you know when it is completed.@ Satoshi Suzuki
